Lifestyle Medicine GP Membership

Modified on Sat, 10 May at 3:01 PM

Tailored medico-legal cover for doctors practising evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine — with a personalised, low-risk, and cost-effective solution.

Who this membership is for?

This membership is designed for GMC-registered GPs who practise Lifestyle Medicine either full-time or alongside general practice — particularly in non-NHS settings or online private clinics.

To be eligible:

  • You must hold a valid GMC licence to practise in the UK

  • Your practice must follow evidence-based clinical guidance as defined by bodies such as BSLM and IBLM

We recognise Lifestyle Medicine as a credible, low-risk specialty — and we’ve built a product that reflects that, with lower membership fees and coverage that adapts to your personal scope of practice.

What’s included in your cover

Your membership includes our full Private GP membership, offering:

✅ 24/7 medico-legal advice and support

✅ Defence for GMC investigations and disciplinary matters

✅ Assistance with complaints and ethical dilemmas

✅ Legal representation and associated costs included

✅ HR and contractual support if employed or subcontracted

✅ Access to indemnity

Tailored advice for hybrid Lifestyle Medicine/GP roles

We work with you to create a bespoke indemnity arrangement that suits your practice model, qualifications, and risk profile.

Scope of Practice We Recognise

Our membership supports Lifestyle Medicine services that align with published clinical frameworks (e.g. BSLM), including:

  • Holistic assessments of physical, mental, social and behavioural health

  • Use of validated tools (e.g. wearables, lifestyle scoring, blood markers)

  • Behaviour change techniques (e.g. motivational interviewing, coaching)

  • Multi-component interventions for chronic conditions (e.g. T2D remission)

  • Group consultations, total diet replacement, fasting protocols

  • Positive psychology, social prescribing, yoga, Tai Chi, and mindfulness

  • Deprescribing or prescribing medications that support lifestyle change

We also recognise that your risk profile is lower — and we reflect that in how we assess and price your membership.

What’s not covered

We cannot offer cover for practices outside of the recognised scope, including:

  • Non-evidence-based or alternative therapies (e.g. herbal medicine, Reiki)

  • Untargeted or indiscriminate diagnostic testing (e.g. genome/microbiome)

  • Advice that contradicts national medical guidelines (e.g. vaccine avoidance)

  • Cosmetic procedures (e.g. Botox) not related to clinical health outcomes
